Glad you asked!
We think camp is great because spending time focused on Jesus is the best way for us to spend our lives and here are some other reasons!
Because Lives are Transformed
At camp, people of all ages have a break from everyday activities to think about the most important issues in life. Many campers make first time decisions to follow God and many others discover more about how wonderful he is. Campers think about their life from God’s perspective, learn to read the Bible on their own, discover truth from God, and get excited for what God has for them!
Because you get to experience Nature & Adventure!
Surrounded by God’s grandeur, campers test their limits in a safe environment, learn skills, and get to try all sorts of new activities for the first time!
Because Camp Creates Community! |
People blossom together at camp because Christ is at the center of everything! We love the bonds that are formed between counselors who discover the joy of serving God with others. Comradery of cabin rooms builds strong trust, and many campers keep coming back to camp because of friends they have made.
Because you can Make Lifelong Friendships
It’s so wonderful to see kids from different schools, towns, and churches build relationships with each other that remind them that Jesus is priority and they are not alone! Friends are forged at camp through exciting experiences, sharing in small groups, and from a loving environment.
Because There are Great Mentors to Look up to
At camp, caring adults, counselors and mentors come alongside campers, helping them think through decisions and experiences in a way that will prepare them for their future. Many campers point back to a positive role model they met at camp as one who helped shape the direction of their lives.
Because it’s a Green House
Camp is the perfect environment for growth. Many are praying over campers and guests lives, we are also getting away from distractions and we are in God’s Word multiple times a day. At camp staff and counselors are all rooting for spiritual growth and are ready to listen or talk through questions.
Because Jesus went Away to Quiet Places Too
In the four biographies of Jesus in the New Testament, we find it was Jesus’ habit to get away and pray and then go out and do what his Father asked. Luke 5:16 says, “But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness to pray.”
Because God will Draw Near to Us
James 4:8 says, “Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.” Hosea 6:3 says, “Oh, that we might know the Lord! Let us press on to know him. He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring.”
